It gives me immense pleasure to extend my greetings to all stakeholders of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad. The Planning & Development wing plays a pivotal role in shaping the Institute’s infrastructure, ensuring sustainable growth, and facilitating a conducive environment for academic and research excellence.

At IIIT Allahabad, we are committed to creating world-class facilities that support innovation, interdisciplinary research, and holistic development. Our focus remains on the systematic expansion of physical infrastructure, modernization of existing facilities, and adoption of efficient and sustainable practices in all developmental activities.

About Office of Dean (Planning & Development)

The Office of the Dean (Planning & Development) is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure development and allied services within the Institute. It plays a vital role in ensuring that the campus infrastructure supports academic, administrative, and residential requirements efficiently and sustainably.

The office undertakes the planning and execution of projects related to new civil and electrical infrastructure on campus. It also supervises the functioning of the Institute Works Department (IWD), including monitoring Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) and ensuring timely maintenance and operational efficiency of existing facilities.

In addition, the office oversees estate preservation and conservation, along with the upkeep and maintenance of all existing infrastructure. Emphasis is placed on optimal utilization of resources and effective deployment of manpower to maintain high standards of functionality and sustainability across the campus.

The Office of the Dean (P&D) is also responsible for budget planning related to development activities. This includes preparation, review, and allocation of budgets in consultation with designated committees, ensuring that financial resources are aligned with institutional priorities and developmental goals.

Further, the office provides planning and oversight to the Transport Section, ensuring efficient management of transport services. It focuses on meeting the mobility needs of the Institute community through proper scheduling, maintenance of vehicles, and adherence to operational objectives of safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
