Networking, Maintenance & High Computing Facilities

The institute has established a highly reliable and scalable network infrastructure supporting over 15,000 nodes, serving more than 3,000 users and approximately 7,000 networked devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Around 4,000 nodes operate continuously, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity across the campus.

The network is built on a robust optical fiber backbone connecting all buildings, supported by advanced networking equipment such as load balancers, firewalls, web security appliances, and Layer 3 managed switches, ensuring high-speed Gigabit intranet access 24×7.

High-Speed Internet Connectivity

The institute is connected through a dedicated 1 Gbps link from the National Knowledge Network (NKN) and an additional 3 Gbps bandwidth from Vodafone Idea. These links operate in redundancy mode and are managed through a Link Load Balancer, ensuring optimized traffic distribution and uninterrupted connectivity.

Centralized Server Room

The centralized server room forms the backbone of network operations, providing secure services and real-time monitoring across the campus. It is equipped with advanced technologies such as Nexus backbone switches, Unified Threat Management systems, and Adaptive Security Appliances, which are regularly upgraded.

Networking & Maintenance Cell (NMHC)

The Networking and Maintenance Cell (NMHC) provides comprehensive support for hardware, software, and network services across the institute. It manages desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT infrastructure.

Hardware Infrastructure

Computer laboratories are equipped with modern systems featuring Quad Core, i5, and i7 processors, 8–16 GB RAM, and 1 TB storage. All labs are supported with 24×7 high-speed internet connectivity.

Additional facilities include scanners, laser printers, and other essential peripherals to support academic activities.

Central Computing Facility (CCF)

The Central Computing Facility provides advanced computing resources including High Performance Computing (HPC), Big Data, and Cloud infrastructure to support research and academic activities.

HPC (SURYA):

  • 640 CPU cores with GPU clusters
  • NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPUs
  • 8.5 TB RAM

Big Data Facility (DHYAN):

  • 800 CPU cores
  • ~250 TB HDFS Storage
  • 8 TB RAM

Cloud Facility:

  • 240 CPU cores
  • 2.3 TB RAM
  • 150 TB Storage

The facility is supported by 100 Gbps interconnectivity, 10 Gbps external connectivity, UPS backup, and precision cooling systems with redundancy to ensure high availability and performance.
