Achievements

IIIT-A has taken several initiatives in advance to implement some of specific features of the New Education Policy launched by Government of India. The institute two year back overhauled the decade old examination system.

As result the Institute despite various hindrances caused by pandemic in year 2020 has scored several milestones. Both teaching and examinations were not affected at all. Examinations and results were successfully conducted by the Institute. Notably, the institute had also credit to organize first ever convocation on line mode in September 2020. The introduction of add- on subjects, focusing on learning instead of passing the exams and flexibility at exams are some of features of the NEP that have already implemented at IIIT-A two years back.

Indo-Russian Center for Biotechnology (IRCB)

Under the umbrella of the Indo-Russian Integrated Long Term Program (ILTP) in Science and Technology, several joint R&D projects are being implemented. Russian institutions have been offering technologies for commercialization in India. Similarly, the Indian side has been offering technologies developed in India for validation and commercialization in Russia. Technology transfer activities in engineering materials, electronics, laser science and technology, catalysis, space science and technology has been significant.

The First project at the center is the HCRPDB, a Database Retrieval and Mining System for Human Cell Receptors Proteins. HCRPDB generates information for structure based drug design on cell receptors proteins and allows retrieval of protein sequence related information.

Organizations like IEEE, ACM, Science Direct and Springer are some of the few academic bodies that acknowledge the work and research attempts of students engaged at various domains of academic pursual throughout the year.

Workshops like IHCI in 2009-2010 and two IITM (Intelligent Interactive Technologies and Multimedia) seminars organized in 2010 and 2013 with the later laying focus on the upcoming MATLAB technologies which found technical sponsors in Springer and ACM respectively are great milestones for the institute.

A DRDO sponsored workshop on "Innovation in information communication technologies (ICT) for defense applications" was observed on December 27, 2010.

A workshop titled "MATLAB and its application in digital image & Signal processing" was held for 2 days 7-8 March 2013.

Institute also organizes various National and International level Workshops and Conferences like International Science Conclave, International Conference for Wireless Sensor Network (IWSN), and International Conference for Intelligent System and Management.
