Library: A Place to Enrich the Minds

The Central Library has a repository of more than 61000 books in various disciplines such as Pure and Applied Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Security, Bio-informatics, and Management Studies.

The Central Library also subscribes 1956 e-books and 10028 e-journals/databases published by Elsevier-Science Direct, Pearson, McGraw-Hill, IEEE, ACM, Springer, Sage, EBSCO, IOP, Emerald and American Physical Society (APS) etc. These e-resources have IP authenticate multiuser full text access Throughout the campus network.

The library maintains and e-media section equipped with 20 computer terminals which are largely meant for facilitating for e-reading. A collection of more than 2500 CDs as well as video cassettes having drivers/software/tools and recorded lectures aim at enhancing the conceptual understanding of the students on various subjects which also proves handy for students who are preparing for the placements.

Library uses the Open Source Software (OSS) 'Koha for automation of all house-keeping operations as well as services rendered to the users. It has also developed a digital repository using the well known OSS called 'DSpace' for archiving, preserving and disseminating the intellectual output of the institute.

A dedicated team of library professionals ensure timely upkeep and smooth functioning and management of the library. The library opens all seven days a week and encourages the reading and academic endeavors of the students and researchers.
