  1. Academics:
  2. Teaching and Research Interests

With over two decades of academic and research experience, my teaching and research interests are in Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI Design, Hardware security, PUF, Data Converters, and Memory Design & Computation. I have been actively involved in cutting-edge research, served as the Principal Investigator for DST-sponsored projects on Low Power High-Speed True Random Number Generator for Cryptographic and Security Applications and SMDPC2SD project. Additionally, I was a Co-PI in a project on Solar Cells. Presently I am the Co-PI of few other projects.

My supervision includes 11 awarded Ph.D. theses, with 6 ongoing Ph.D. candidates, alongside mentoring over 80 M.Tech students. My research focuses on developing energy-efficient and high-performance VLSI circuits, with applications in security and memory design. With a strong background in low-power electronics, I strive to contribute to next-generation semiconductor technologies, fostering innovation and practical solutions for emerging challenges in hardware security and efficient computing.

My outreach activities are dedicated to advancing semiconductor education, fostering industry-academia collaboration, and nurturing the next generation of researchers and engineers through leadership, training, mentorship, and professional engagement.

  • Served as the Dean (Academic and Research) at IIIT Allahabad for over two years, contributing to academic planning, research governance, curriculum development, faculty mentoring, and strengthening the institute's research ecosystem.
  • Organized and coordinated the Summer Training Program on VLSI Design (STPVD), a one-month self-financed intensive training program, annually for past 10+ years at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, IIIT Allahabad, technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section and IEEE UP Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) Chapter.
  • Organized the AICTE QIP-PG Certification Program - "From Semiconductors to Chips: IC Design Fundamentals (SemChips)" at IIIT Allahabad from 1 July to 31 December 2025, providing comprehensive training in semiconductor devices, IC design, and modern VLSI technologies.
  • Established and strengthened advanced VLSI design and research laboratories to provide hands-on training in analog, mixed-signal, digital, and hardware security integrated circuit design.
  • Delivered expert lectures, workshops, faculty development programs (FDPs), and short-term training courses on semiconductor technology, VLSI design, and integrated circuit implementation for students, researchers, and faculty members.
  • Actively serve as Vice Chair of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS), IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section, promoting technical activities, professional networking, student engagement, and collaborative research initiatives.
  • Mentored numerous Ph.D., M.Tech., and undergraduate students, guiding them toward high-quality research publications, patents, ASIC implementations, and success in national and international VLSI design competitions.
  • Foster collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations, and semiconductor industries to accelerate innovation, technology transfer, and capacity building in analog and mixed-signal IC design, hardware security, memory systems, and AI-assisted semiconductor design.
